Sensational Kenyan singer Nikita Kering is laughing all the way to the bank after landing a mouth-watering deal with Rihanna’s cosmetic brands Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin.

Taking to social media, the 20-year-old songbird who is behind hits such as Never Let You Go, Ex and Tragedy, revealed that she had been picked to lead Fenty’s campaigns in Kenya which will kick on Friday, May 27.

Further, Nikita noted that she will be instrumental in pushing Gloss Bomb, a lip luminizer that comes in eight shades and Killawatt - a hybrid highlighter that comes in a range of shades.

Her announcement comes a fortnight after Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, announced plans to open her new skincare and beauty products line in Kenya.

In a tweet on Tuesday, May 10, the Barbadian pop star revealed that she had been looking forward to expanding her business in Africa and listed Kenya as one of the countries where she was planning to set up shop for Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin.

“I have been waiting for this moment. Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin are finally dropping in Africa. Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe we are coming at you on May 27,” she wrote.

The announcement was greeted with mixed reactions from her Kenyan fans. While many lauded her for having the country in mind, others expressed concern and warned her against workin with certain local distributors of make up and skin care products.

They claimed that some local retailers, who import their products from abroad, are notorious for doubling their prices which would make them dig deeper into their pockets if Rihanna decided to partner with them.

The disgruntled fans asked the Diamonds hit maker to avail the products locally but include an option of paying her company directly as this would ensure the prices are not exaggerated.

Rihanna's Fenty Beauty, which focuses on a wide range of traditionally hard-to-march skin tones, has been causing jitters within the beauty industry since it was launched in September 2017.

Following the success of Fenty Beauty, the pop star launched Fenty Skin which initially offered products such as cleanser, toner and moisturizer.

In 2021, Forbes estimated Rihanna’s net worth at $1.7 billion making her the wealthiest female musician and the second-richest woman in entertainment after legendary talk show host Oprah Winfrey.

Most of her wealth is attributed to her 50 per cent stake in Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin. She also has a per cent stake in the Savage x Fenty lingerie line, which raised money at a $1 billion valuation in February 2021.
