Mutahi Kagwe’s rapper son Kahu$h, has landed his first ambassadorial deal. The rapper recently jotted down his signature on the deal with Fresh Chewing Gum.
The politician’s son rose to fame when his father became the Cabinet Secretary for Health. The footballer cum rapper describes himself as a trap and shrap rapper.
The health CS has previously in other interviews acknowledged his youngest son Kahu$h, whose real name is Kahumburu Mutahi. He has praised his songs and expressed his proud dad moments.
“Of course, I know Kahush, he is my youngest son, somewhere along the way Kahumburu became Kahu$h, he is a student and a rapper and a good one too, I listen to his music sometimes, you know ‘Mi Siwezi” and so on and so forth.”
Though Kahu$h was doing relatively well before his dad joined the government, his national recognition happened after his father’s appointment, his songs hit 1 million views on YouTube.
During the deal signing, the fast-rising star noted that the company chose him because of how quickly he had risen to fame and his talent. In a statement he said;
“Fresh chewing gum was rebranding they felt the need to partner with an artist who is rising right now in the entertainment industry and who resonates with their brand.”
The crooner who is still studying Politics and International Relations at the Nottingham University in the UK came back home due to the COVID-19 situation. He got a football scholarship to study abroad. He claims to be very good on the pitch as well.
Kahu$h rose to the limelight with his song “Mi Siwezi” during the covid-19 pandemic and has never looked back. He currently has 4 songs under his name.
His hit song ‘Mi Siwezi‘ has over 1 million views on YouTube and has received great reviews from critics as well as other artists in the Kenyan hip-hop music industry. Award winning Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones has already expressed interest in featuring in a potential remix to the song.
The Mastingo rapper is reaching for the stars and crashing barriers while at it. We can’t dim his light; his father’s status is a plus for him but his talent is enough to keep him at the top of his game. The limelight is on him and we can’t wait to see how far he goes.
