Former journalist Makena Njeri has finally launched her organization, Bold Network Africa. The organization aims at educating Africans about the LGBTQ community. The organization will achieve this by using films, training, and documentaries to end discrimination against the community.
Recently, Makena publicly came out as gay. She has received trolls and backlash. To African society being gay is seen as an abomination. For this reason, Makena decided to start the organization, hoping that she will change the lives of Africans.

A lot of Kenyans and celebrities filled her timeline with congratulatory messages towards her new move.

History is being made around the world today and I am so proud and humbled to be part of it.

You will never know the pain of discrimination, cyber bullying and hate until you go through it. The world leaves you with two options either be afraid and coil up to the different expectations of society or step out into the universe and be BOLD. I chose the second option two years ago and the beautiful journey of Bold Network Africa begun. The story about how it begun is beautiful and I promise to share it one day πŸ˜ƒ but it’s only through love that Bold Network Africa exists
