Jalang'o Gives Out His YouTube Channel

Renowned media personality Felix Odiwuor, better known by his moniker Jalang'o, has given out his YouTube channel following his election as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Lang'ata.

In a video that was posted on the channel dubbed Jalango TV, the former Kiss FM breakfast show host revealed that he was leaving it to his employees as he will not have time to run it because of his duties as a legislator.

Jalang'o asked them to form a company and continue creating content on the channel. However, they will have to give him 20 per cent of their monthly earnings.

"Hii channel sasa nataka doh iskuwe inaenda kwa account yangu. I want you to form your company so that you can take the channel. Every month mtakuwa mnanilipa 20 per cent of what you earn.
Sasa hii nimewaachia nyinyi muendelee. Mtafutee ma interviews na mfanye mambo mingi kwa sababu mimi pahali naenda ntakuwa busy sana," he stated.

Jalang'o also revealed that he will set up another channel while in Parliament that will surpass the one that he has given out in terms of subscribers.

"Lakini hata huko naenda kufungua mpya. Channel ingine hatari. Mtashangaa, itapita hata hii yenyu. Chukueni kazi kama yenyu. Mform company yenyu nyinyi wanne mniletee tuandikie watu wa Google wa-change," he added.

To date, the channel has 573,000 subscribers and has garnered more than 59 million views.

Jalang'o TV grew thanks to the media personalities' interviews with different public figures since 2020.

He stopped doing the interviews earlier this year when he announced that he will be running for the Lang'ata parliamentary seat.

Jalang'o ran on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket and garnered 38,948 votes, with his main rival, the incumbent MP Nixon Korir, collecting 36,836 votes.

Korir conceded to the media personality in a Facebook post and thanked the people of Lang'ata for giving him a chance to serve them in the National Assembly. He also congratulated Jalang'o.

"From the results that we've tallied at the Generali centre, my competitor Jalango has a lead and I want to congratulate him as he prepares to take the mantle and move Langata forward. Siasa si chuki. God bless Langata.

"To the people of Langata, I sincerely thank you for according me an opportunity to be your Member of Parliament for the last 5 years. It's been a great opportunity that gave me an avenue to contribute to our nation-building and service to the people," he wrote.
