Edi Mue Gathegi was born on the 10th of March in 1979. He is 41-years-old.

Edi Mue Gathegi was Born in Nairobi, Kenya. 

His father is Dr John N’ Gathegi, PhD who graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and who is a professor at the University of South Florida. 

Edi Gathegi grew up alongside his siblings who are well-known artists, Nate Dawg and Betty G. 

The Gathegi family moved to the US when Edi was a child and settled in Albany, California.

Edi Gathegi did both his primary and secondary studies in California and furthered his studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. 

While in college he played basketball and had to quit due to his career-threatening knee injury. He had dreams of eventually for an NBA team but reality didn't allow him.  

Whilst getting better, Edi Gathegi started exploring his options and eventually grew an interest for the performing arts and he started attending New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts for a graduate acting program. He graduated in 2005. 

Edi Gathegi Marriage


Edi Gathegi married his gorgeous wife, Adriana Marinescu in 2018. She is a model, designer and fashionista.

Edi started his career after he scored a role in 2006 on the movie Crank.

The Kenyan-American rapper worked his way into being a noticed actor with the release of Crank.

It was rumoured that Edi Gathegi left one of the shows that he starred on not so good terms. In 2014, Edi Gathegi landed himself a role on the American drama-series, Justified.

Edi Gathegi was rumoured to have had a bad exchange of words with the creator of the show, Graham Yost. It seems Edi Gathegi was no longer happy to be part of the cast. All of a sudden as viewers were still enjoying the series, his character was killed.

During an interview, Graham had this to say,

"When Edi wanted off, suddenly we were forced to get him out of the show. I think the solution we came up with gave us a better storyline for the season..."
