This sultry songstress, known for her afro-soul music turns 32 today. Not only is she known for her powerful vocals, the Kenyan diva also holds many followers captured by her fitness, modeling and lifestyle content on her social media handles.

Having started singing in church choirs as a child, this performer proceeded to sing professionally and finally made her debut at the age of 19 in collaboration with Kenya’s Afro-pop artist Sauti Sol. She’s a rising star that definitely isn’t done yet.

This is what the past year has been like for the singer.

She celebrates one year of married life
 It’s been a year since Dela tied the knot in early 2019 to her longtime beau Dr. Reign. The two love birds even released a collaboration on Youtube called Good bad Boy. This is how the world came to know about their engagement. This year the star celebrates her first year with Dr. Reign and took to Instagram to wish him a happy birthday with a heartfelt message.

She dappled in the film thing and won!

Dela contributed to the vocals of the film Her Eyes which won third runner up at the Machakos Film Festival. She congratulated fellow artist Fancy Fingers and director Eddy Peter on Instagram saying “Not too shabby for first timers in this film thing”.

She made an appearance in Fenamel’s music video for Siri Unleashed

The star had a cameo appearance in a project by her boo Fena Gitu for the film Siri Unleashed which featured on youtube. A CJ Pixels and KG Brian film.


She started a little side hustle : Mzee Mchomee’s chilli sauce

Dela and her husband decided to get creative over the pandemic in order to adapt so they launched Mzee Mchomee, a range of her father-in-law’s barbecue sauces including his famous PiliPili sauce. He earned the nickname Mzee Mchomee by being the number one grill master of the family. The couple hopes that his PiliPili sauce will be a massive hit in every Kenyan household!

She did what she does best and had a few live performance gigs
The soul singer provided soothing meditative live music through different collaborations while live on stage. She’s known for her intimate style of performance where fans can just sit back and chill.

It looks like Dela’s been busy this past year and we hope that it will just keep getting better for her as time rolls on.
