Nick Ruto, the firstborn child of Deputy President William Ruto, got married on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Windy Ridge in Karen, Nairobi. At a stunning traditional ceremony known as Koito among the Kalenjin community, Nick, 30, married his sweetheart Evelyn Chemutai.
Facebook/Nick RutoPolitical figures who support DP Ruto were there, including Governor Stephen Sang, Senators Mandago and Kipchumba Murkomen of Elgeyo Marakwet and Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho), as well as MPs Alice Wahome (Kandara), Caleb Kositany (Soy), and Gladys Boss Shollei (Uasin Gishu).
This occurs just over a year after June, Ruto's firstborn daughter, married her Nigerian learned lover Alex Ezenagu in a public ceremony in May 2021. Following the wedding of musician Guardian Angel to Esther Musila at the start of the year, Nick's koito was the second high-profile wedding in 2022. Nick, the man of the moment, wore a white Kaunda suit that was specially made for him, embellished on the left side of the shoulders with kitenge cloth, and combined with a white Panama hat. Groomsmen gleamed in cut-to-fit blue kaunda suits, brown Panama hats and matching brown shoes.
Aside from DP Ruto's close political allies, the ceremony included family members and friends. The marriage ceremony took place almost a year to the day after the DP's daughter June Ruto wed Alexander Ezenagu, a Nigerian man, in Karen, Nairobi.
