The event, which was organized by Makena’s new LGBTQ+ organization was a chance for members of the Kenyan gay community to interact and celebrate who they are.
Chiki had been very supportive of Makena leading up to the event where she actively took part in inviting people to attend the event. In one instance, Chiki even gave some of her followers the chance to compete for tickets to the event by putting up a questionnaire on her stories and whoever got all the answers right won.
Many celebrities showed up at the event on Sunday in support of Makena and also as a chance to show what they identify as. In attendance were the likes of popular makeup artist, Dennis Karuri, Michelle Ntalami, Niyati Patel (who is a co-founder of Marini Naturals), Jony Hairdesigner and Kwambox.
Chiki is known to be a liberal person so it’s no surprise that she supports Makena. Just a few days she and Bien were trending over some comments they made about their marriage. The two revealed that they were in an open relationship and didn’t have any problem if the other chose to sleep with someone else. Kenyans were so shocked at the revelation and went ahead to accuse Bien of being lazy in bed.
Bold Network Africa
A few weeks earlier, Makena launched her organization, Bold Network Africa, which aims to educate people about the LGBTQ community.
Many celebrities have come out to support her move and just a few days ago, Makena launched a Bold beer which is also a celebration of the LGBTQ community.
Njeri has since called out to her fans and supporters to purchase the drink saying that by buying the beer, they would be changing someone’s life.
“This will be a reminder that every time you choose to be bold the universe dances to your tune!” said Makena while launching the beer to her followers on Instagram.
