Many know her as the lady who used to present news every Sunday evening on Citizen Tv. in a smooth, flawless, and excellent command of English. A lot of men know her as the lady they wished they had but knew they will never have.

Well, Julie Gichuru is that and so much more. The mother of four rose to fame as a radio presenter at Capital FM before she later moved to be a news presenter on Tv.

In a career that spans more than two decades here are the things that have made us remain in love with Julie Gichuru.


It goes without saying that Julie knows how to impress when it comes to her sense of fashion. She embraces a wide variety of fashion wear from casual, official, and African print. The magic is in how she remains to look elegant and sophisticated in everything she puts on.

Gichuru has remained a trendsetter in fashion having invested largely in the industry. It is amazing how she manages to still look young and beautiful, even as she approaches her fifties.

Love Life

Julie is big on public display of affection. She has been married to the Nairobi businessman Anthony Gichuru for more than 20 years, and together they have four children.
On their wedding anniversary, she went on Instagram to give netizens a few tips for a lasting relationship. According to Julie a successful marriage is built on friendship, love, communication, and caring for each other.

“Here are a few words of advice from a couple of OGs, together for over 20 years now. Always be best friends, have fun & laugh together, it is the best medicine. Do not take each other for granted ever; always appreciate each other,” she wrote.

She further added that things are way easier if the marriage is centered on God.


Julie has established herself as a person who has people's interests at heart and has stood as an advocate of peace and good leadership throughout her career.

This led her to be awarded the Martin Luther King Salute to Greatness in 2008 as a result of her advocacy for peace post-2007 general election.

Among other things, she introduced shows such as Africa Leadership Dialogue, The Pan-Africa Show, and The Great Debaters Contest for high school students, all geared towards improving leadership in the country and Africa at large.


Julie is not your ordinary media personality as she is well learned. She completed her GCE at Imani school in Thika before she joined the University of Cardiff where she pursued a degree in Law and later an MBA from Cardiff Law school.

She is big on humor and a lot of times you will find all the kinds of humorous content on her social media pages. She makes fun of everything including her kids. Life is never that serious after all. She is also a lover of art in all its form.
