Tanzanian singer Zuhura Othman Soud, better known by her stage name Zuchu has addressed claims that she is beefing with fellow songstress Nandy. In an interview with Wasafi TV, Zuchu dismissed the rumours.

The two had in the part entered competitions together and fans have been pitting them against each other. But Zuchu said being compared to Nandy wasn't a concern to her.

The Sukari singer said she does not have any issues with Nandy. "Being compared to other artists doesn't give me pressure. What gives me pressure is releasing a song for example I just released Sukari, which is giving me pressure than being compared to other artists... I don't get deals from these unnecessary rivalries...," she said.

Zuchu made history as the first female artist in Tanzania to hit over 1 million views less than 24 hours after uploading Sukari on a video-sharing platform – YouTube.

Sukari was officially uploaded on Youtube on January 30, 2021, achieved the historic milestone while trending at number one both in Tanzania and Kenya in less than 22 hours.

"Thank you so much. Your song Sukari has clocked 1, 000, 000 views in less than 22 hours. We are still number one trending on YouTube," Zuchu told her supporters.

Sukari is a love song that talks about how love is too sweet, like sugar, that you can't get enough of it—directed by Director Kenny under Zoom Extra, a production company owned by Diamond Platnumz. The audio was produced by Trone, with mastering and mixing done by Producer Lizer Classic.

Speaking during the interview on Wasafi TV, Zuchu dismissed rumours on dating Diamond Platnumz. She explained that the two only have a working relationship and she isn't too free with the Salome hitmaker.

Zuchu was signed by Diamond’s record label Wasafi Records this year, and she has since found herself trending for the wrong reasons.

The Cheche singer denied rumours she is sleeping with her boss, and that this is the reason he ditched Tanasha Donna.

Tanasha claimed that Zuchu stole her lyrics but the Wana songstress said she did the song in Spanish not to keep up with the Kenyan singer but rather the beat drove her in that direction.

“Idea ya kuimba kihispania ilikuja baada ya kusikiliza beat la wimbo wa 'Cheche'. Sikumuiga Tanasha,” Zuchu said.

The Litawachoma singer slammed haters who criticized her rise and being marketed heavily by her record label WCB.

Zuchu comes from a musical family her mother is Queen of Taarab Hadija Kopa, who collaborated with Diamond on the hit song ‘Nasema Nawe’.

She is the new face at WCB but she is not a new name in the Bongo Flava scene. The singer first came on the scene in 2015 after participating in the Tecno Take on the Stage competition in Lagos, Nigeria.

The singer holds the female artiste's record with most YouTube subscribers (751K) in East Africa after beating Nandy, who has 651K subscribers. According to the BoomPlay streaming app, her EP was the most played album in Tanzania in 2020.
