We all know and love Wahu for her charm, talent and demeanor. The Kenyan singer has carved a path for herself in the entertainment industry by remaining authentic and producing music that resonates with her fans, which partly explains why she is one of the most popular celebrities.

But before all the fame, Wahu admits to have had a very troubled teenage life. As a young female, she confesses to have battled with low self-esteem and never imagined or believed that she would ever attain celebrity status or become anyone influential in society.

In psychology, the term self-esteem is used to describe a person’s overall sense of self-worth or personal value.

The “Sweet Love” singer hinted about her low self-esteem as a teenager through a post on her social media accounts.
‘’As a teenager and into my early 20s I had terrible self esteem issues. I felt ugly, unintelligent & unworthy of being loved.I never thought I’d amount to anything much. I dont know who needs to hear this but dont believe but the bigger your test the bigger your testimony.’’
We commiserate with Wahu for having a troubled teenage life but all that is in the past and she surely had no idea how worthy she was because where she is right now, and who she has become is a testament to every young girl out there that self-belief and esteem are worth giving a try and necessary to help them achieve their dreams.

Wahu is one of the most celebrated songstresses in the East African region. With all the fame garnered in her career which has lasted over a decade, she dedicated her time to empowering females in the region.
