Diana Marua and Bahati put aside all the Mathare political drama of the past few days and were having an awesome time last night at their Bahatis and Friends party in Ruiru.
The duo stepped out in style to celebrate with their fans alongside a slew of their celebrity friends. In a video shared by Diana on her Instagram, she is seen walking to join her hubby on stage to perform their recent hit Sweet Love as screaming fans mob her for a chance to touch her.
"Thank you for coming out in Large numbers. Jana was too Liiiiittt 🤧To the Moon and Back ❤️🔥," she captioned.
The couple was spotted dressed in their stylish best. Diana wore a diamond-patterned green and black dress while Bahati rocked a multi-coloured stripped pair of pants with a matching jacket and a Freshi Barida printed T-shirt which he teamed with white shoes.Read more: Isha Raffi Despairs After Spending 66K On Fake iPhone
Whirlwind week for the Bahatis It wasn't one of their best weeks as Bahati learned earlier this week that his political ambitions have been curtailed. His Jubilee party pulled his nomination to vie for the Mathare member of parliament seat in a shock move.
"Here in Mathare it was decided that ODM will field the candidate supported by Azimio and that is current MP Anthony Oluoch. For musician Bahati we will get him a job in the Azimio government," said Azimio La Umoja member Edwin Sifuna.
Bahati was forced to go on the defensive as it seems he was not consulted about the move to block his candidature. He quickly responded on his social media and even called an emergency press conference to rubbish Edwin Sifuna's earlier statement. "IGNORE THE PROPAGANDA!!! I WILL BE ADDRESSING THE PRESS AT 2PM!!! #BAHATINEXTMPMATHARE 🙏"
Sifuna wants Diana Diana's name was also dragged into the mudslinging fight between Bahati and the ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna. Mr. Sifuna is the one who made the unexpected announcement that Bahati's political bid had been sacrificed in favour of his Azimio campmate and incumbent Anthony Oluoch.
After Bahati's press conference where he called for Mr. Sifuna to stay out of Jubilee Party and Mathare politics, Mr. Sifuna posted up his own video with a Jubilee party coordinator for Nairobi region confirming that the party had pulled its candidate from the Mathare race in favour of the ODM candidate.
Mr. Sifuna used the opportunity to troll Bahati and also mention his wife Diana. "Ahsante sana wana Jubilee Party Nairobi for resolving the Mathare question for us. We now have a candidate. Hio kijana ya kulia lia nitachukua apology yake kwa Diana personally." Bahati responded with a Will Smith-inspired explicit tirade.
