Investigative journalist Dennis Okari announced that he quit NTV after 8 years.
His announcement came days after news spread that Mark Maasai had been fired from the same company after 15 years. The media organization implemented the changes as part of the project to integrate a digital-first newsroom.
Dennis announced his exit with a long message which has made netizens recall his remarks after the ugly divorce with former KTN presenter now-turned businesswoman Betty Kyallo.
"My assignment at NTV has come to an end, I'm grateful to God for an opportunity to serve. I gave it my all but it couldn't have done it without the help of an incredible team and an amazing audience." He posted.
Dennis is one of the best investigative journalists in the nation. He was married to Betty Kyallo, with whom he had a daughter named Ivanna. His comments have caused some online users to reflect on his responses to their highly publicized divorce. Many have claimed that while ending the marriage was difficult for him, doing so likely helped him quit his job without being fired and subjected to public humiliation.
"Nimekaa tuu ivii nikakumbuka Dennis Okari messy and noisy divorce with Kyallo, he cried in front of cameras mpaka Gusii elders warned him. He later found Jesus, joined the Church,re-married and he's in a happy marriage as Betty Kyallo keeps on sampling various male genitalia." Twitter a tweep by the name Salim the don.
Years later Betty is yet to discard her wedding dress, and she explained why. Renowned media personality Betty Kyallo is yet to dispose of her wedding dress years after splitting up with the father of her child - Dennis Okari.
Netizens came to learn about this past weekend thanks to the former news anchor's younger sister Mercy Kyallo.
Mercy had visited Betty and she was taken aback when she stumbled on the white dress, which was worn by the latter on her wedding day, as she was rummaging through her closet.
It is then that she decided to inquire why Betty still has the dress to which she replied that she is hoping that God will give her someone to spend the rest of her life with.
“I’m still hopeful. God is gonna bless me with a man, with a husband," she remarked. Betty wore the dress when she got married to Dennis, an Investigative Reporter at NTV, in October 2015.
Less than six months after their nuptials reports emerged that the couple had split up and Betty had moved out of their matrimonial home and rented an apartment where she lived with her daughter.
In a past interview, the Flair By Betty CEO let it slip that their marriage failed because she was young and didn't want marriage because she did not see its meaning.
