Thus took a lot more work at her company to add to the Ksh 3,500 she earned. She eventually managed to clear the fee and successfully completed her radio course. 

Amina was top of her class. This landed her an internship at Radio Africa Group's Homeboyz Radio. Amina took multiple responsibilities as she longed for a chance to go on air. 

Her persistence paid off when she got a chance to sit in for senior presenters. She ran away with the opportunity and got her own show that aired between midnight and 3 am. That was the beginning of the name you hear now, Amina Abdi Rabar. 

Amina would later move to Capital FM to replace Joey Muthengi who had just left in the now-defunct evening show, 'Hits Not Homework' with her co-presenter Soulo.
