Ali Kiba is one of Tanzania's biggest music export. He received an honour from former Tanzanian president Jakaya Kikwete for his work in promoting Tanzanian culture. Ally Saleh Kiba popularly known as Ali Kiba was born on 26 November 1986 in Iringa, Tanzania. He is a singer, songwriter, producer and CEO of Kings Music Label. East Africa knows him for his musical prowess and has tracks like 'Run Dunia' and 'Mwana'. The musician is also known for his love of football and plays during his free time.

Schooling

Ali Kiba went to Upanga Primary School in Tanzania. His other academic exploits remain unknown as he got into the music scene and built his reputation. 

Career

Ali Kiba was an active participant in music and dance in school. Afterwards, he wrote his own songs including his first single titled "Maria". When he released debut album "Cinderella" it topped the charts and earned him a position at the table of East Africa's finest musicians. The album carries tunes like 'Nakshi Nakshi Mrembo', 'Cinderella', 'Mac Muga', and 'Zaidi Yangu'.

The album was a huge success and was the best selling album in East Africa. Ali Kiba's dominance continued with the release of his second album "Ali K 4 Real". It features 17 songs amongst them being "Ndio Yule", "Usiniseme", "Shamba" & "Karim".

In 2010, Ali Kiba was part of one of the biggest continental projects dubbed One8 in partnership with communications company Airtel in which he collaborated with disgraced American artist R Kelly alongside artists like 2Fcae Idibia, Amani, Navio, JK, Fally Ipupa, Movaizhaleine & 4X4.

Ali Kiba then released 'Dushelele', a song with Jaydee "Single Boy/Girl", "Chekecha", "Mwana", all of which were popular hits.

In 2016, Sony Music Entertainment acquired the signature of Ali Kiba. During his career, he's shared a stage with artists like Sauti Sol, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Timaya, NeYo, R Kelly amongst others.

Some of Ali Kiba’s best songs are ‘Chekecha Cheketua’,  ‘Macmuga’, ‘Aje’, ‘Seduce Me’, ‘Usiniseme’, and ‘Njiwa’.

Relationships

Ali Kiba's wife Amina Rikesh filed for divorce at the Kadhi's court on grounds that the musician deserted her and their children. She termed the marriage as broken and wants to end it due to constant fights with her relatives which she explained are causing her mental anguish which at some point drove her to leave their matrimonial home. 

Ali Kiba and Amina got married in 2016 in a lavish wedding in Nyali, Mombasa and Serena Hotel in Tanzania. Their wedding was televised on Azam TV. The two first met on a plane and later through a distant cousin.

Ali Kiba has six children, two of them - Keyaan and Kamran - with his estranged wife. His other four - Amiya Kiba, Jamal Kiba, Chamy Kiba and Prince Sameer Kiba - are from his past relationship.

Controversy

Who is the King of Bongo, Ali Kiba or Diamond Platnumz? Neither will relinquish the title to the other as Ali Kiba declared himself with his name "King Kiba" while Diamond called himself "Simba". As they square that out, Diamond took their rivalry a notch higher when he told Ali Kiba that he was below his level through his song 'Fresh'. Ali Kiba remained unfazed as he said that a king will always be king. 

Diamond's crew seemed to extend an olive branch to Ali Kiba and announced he was scheduled to perform at the Wasafi Festival but Ali Kiba denied ever receiving an invitation from Wasafi.
